Water Heater Installation/Repair

Has your water heater been acting strangely? Making weird sounds, leaking, not producing hot water? It’s time to call Best Plumbing, Heating and Cooling to get it fixed, or better yet—get a new, more efficient model. Even if your water heater isn’t acting up now, it’s smart to start scheduling yearly maintenance checks and tune-ups, so it’ll last as long as possible. If you’re handy, you can even do annual tune-ups yourself. Follow these steps, and call us at Best Plumbing, Heating and Cooling if you have any questions.

1.   Turn off the circuit breaker if your heater is electric, or the pilot if it is gas. This is important. Then, wait at least an hour for the water to cool.

2.   Attach a garden hose to the water heater’s drain valve, with the other end placed where you want the water to drain.

3.   Turn off the cold water pipe (at the top of the water heater).

4.   Open the drain valve at the bottom to drain the water heater.

5.   Once the water stops draining or runs clear, turn on the cold water for several minutes to flush any remaining sediment.

6.   Close the drain valve and unhook the hose, making sure nothing is leaking.

7.   Let the water heater refill. At the same time, turn on the hot water in the kitchen to get air out of the line.

8.   Once the tank has completely filled, turn on the electricity or gas again.

Camera Inspections

Sometimes, when a drain clogs, it’s difficult to find the cause and location of the blockage. Many times, snaking or hydro-jetting takes care of the problem. But when it doesn’t, that’s where we come in with our state-of-the-art camera inspections.

Camera inspections are invaluable for diagnosing issues with sewer lines and drains, saving time and ensuring accuracy. Once the problem has been established, Best Plumbing, Heating and Cooling can then effectively make repairs or replacements.

Water Softener

Hard water can be a nuisance. If you’re tired of the wear and tear on your dishwasher, the calcification of your pipes, funny-tasting food and dull hair and skin, then maybe it’s time to get a water softener. Water softeners use additives and chemical processes to neutralize or remove substances from water, eliminating limescale buildup and other issues to improve the performance and longevity of your plumbing. Call Best Plumbing, Heating and Cooling today to set up a consultation to find out if a water softener is the best choice for your home.

Backflow Prevention

Backflow preventers keep your drinking water uncontaminated by preventing water from cross-connection points such as swimming pools, sprinkler systems and hot tubs from running backward through your pipes and into freshwater supply.

Thinking of getting one installed? Or maybe you already have one installed, but aren’t sure if it’s still working properly? Call us to schedule an appointment to diagnose your situation.

In the meantime, there are a few signs that could indicate a need for repair, including dripping water or leaks near the preventer, buildup or discharge on the system, pressure fluctuations, or banging sounds in the pipes.

To ensure that your backflow preventer is operating properly, it’s smart to get it checked once a year by a professional plumber. You can’t beat the peace of mind that comes from knowing your family is protected from potential illness from water contamination.

Slab Leak Detection & Repair

A slab leak, one which occurs in the foundation of your home, can cause structural-integrity problems and other damage which becomes worse as time passes.

Slab leaks aren’t always easy to determine, but can be indicated by a few signs:

o  Your water heater is constantly running

o  Unexplained spike in water bills

o  Pooling water where it doesn’t belong

o  Water-pressure decrease

o  Mold, mildew or the smell of these

o  Areas of the floor which are suddenly hot

Early identification and repair of a slab leak can prevent much more costly repairs down the road. Give Best Plumbing, Heating and Cooling a call before the problem gets worse.

Grease Traps

Grease traps are invaluable for separating oils and grease from wastewater before moving into your sewer lines. Too much accumulation of these can cause clogs and backed-up pipes. At Best Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, we offer installation and repair of grease traps so your plumbing remains cleaner, longer.

Repiping

Galvanized water lines, clay pipe sewer lines, pitting copper, new construction…all reasons for repiping. Even when replacing sewer lines there are options depending on the age and extent of damage of existing pipes, and your budget.

We offer polybutylene pipe repair and replacement, trenchless sewer replacement, and trenchless sewer and drain lining. Trenchless methods are more environmentally friendly and cost effective. Call us for a consultation to see what option is best for you.

Trenching

Good….Bad….Otherwise – digging a trench sometimes becomes unavoidable. BEST has the equipment and manpower to handle it as pain free as possible. Don’t forget we have our locating service to plan the route, equipment to dig the trench, plumbing service to install the products that go in the trench…and shoot we will even fill, tamp, pack and smooth it all back out again!

Water Filtration/Reverse Osmosis System

Forget the never-ending chore and expense of buying containers of water from the store. Are you ready to have constant, easy access to water from home that’s free of minerals and chemicals?

Filtered water via a reverse osmosis system not only reduces wear and tear on your plumbing and appliances, but also improves the taste of your drinking water, food and coffee. We can install point-of-use reverse osmosis systems which fit right under your kitchen sink, or whole-home filtration options that filter every faucet in your house. Give us a call and let us help you choose the best water-filtration system for the needs of your home and budget.
